District Leader Anthony Beckford represents the 43rd New York State Assembly District, which includes Flatbush, Crown Heights, Prospect Lefferts Garden and a bit of East Flatbush. District Leader Beckford is the son of immigrant parents from Jamaica, a Single Father, a United States Marine Corps Veteran and a longstanding Entrepreneur and Community Advocate. District Leader Anthony Beckford is the 3rd Vice Chair of the Kings County Democratic County Committee, as well as the Chair of both the Brooklyn Democratic Party's Rules and Public Relations Committee. He is also the former Personal Assistant to New York State Assembly Member, Brian Cunningham. His time as an advocate started at the age of 12 years old, when he stopped the racist plans to rezone the school district, which meant displacements and the removal of critical funding for youth.
He has been an iconic voice throughout the Black Lives Matter movement, Educational Funding, Truly Affordable Housing and Healthcare in Brooklyn and throughout New York City. District Leader Beckford has helped to push the passing of key legislative measures and policies, as well as resolutions in New York. District Leader Anthony Beckford is a recipient of various awards and honors in regards to his advocacy, entrepreneurship and leadership, throughout New York. His initiatives and partnerships with his colleagues throughout all levels of Government as well as his partnerships with Community-based Organizations and Small Business, has provided Hope, Vibrancy and Progress within the 43rd Assembly District.
